Choose Your Equipment Type
Dry Van Dispatching
Dry vans move the majority of non-perishable freight in the USA — everything from consumer goods to industrial supplies. As the most common trailer type, dry van freight offers consistent volume year-round.
NexPick Logistics leverages real-time market data and deep broker relationships to secure above-average rates for your dry van loads. We target high-paying lanes, avoid rate-killing backhauls, and keep your truck moving profitably 365 days a year.
Reefer Dispatching
Refrigerated trailers transport temperature-sensitive freight including produce, frozen foods, pharmaceuticals, and other perishables. Reefer loads typically pay more than dry van due to specialized requirements.
Our dispatchers understand the unique demands of reefer freight — from pre-cooling requirements to temperature monitoring. We secure premium loads that maximize your revenue while minimizing empty miles and detention time.
Why Dry Van & Reefer Dispatch Requires Expertise
- Market rates change daily — timing your bookings matters
- Certain lanes (TX-MA, IL-GA) pay significantly more than others
- Broker credit checks prevent non-payment disasters
- Proper load planning reduces empty miles to under 10%
- Reefer loads require temperature compliance and special handling
- Lumper fees and detention pay must be negotiated upfront
Dry Van Rates
Average: $2.50-$3.50 per mile depending on lane, season, and equipment. Our dispatchers consistently secure rates in the top 25% of the market.
Reefer Rates

Dry Van & Reefer FAQ
Dry van dispatch focuses on non-perishable goods in standard 53ft trailers, while reefer dispatch handles temperature-controlled freight. Reefer loads typically pay 15-25% more but require additional coordination for temperature settings, pre-cooling, and specialized delivery requirements.
For dry vans: California to Texas, Midwest to Southeast, and Northeast corridors are consistently profitable. For reefers: California produce lanes, Florida-to-North routes, and Midwest-to-coastal markets offer the best rates. We track market data daily to position you in high-paying lanes.
We negotiate lumper fees and detention pay upfront before you book the load. For reefer deliveries, we confirm all accessorial charges in advance and ensure brokers have a history of paying these fees promptly. You never have to worry about unexpected costs eating into your revenue.
Our standard dispatch fee is 5% of the gross revenue for each load booked through NexPick, unless your signed service agreement states a different rate or fee structure. "Gross revenue" means the line-haul and other compensation identified in the applicable rate confirmation before deductions. We only make money when you make money, so we're motivated to get you the highest rates possible. No hidden fees, no surprises.
